greetings from a postcard summer,
ashtrays and heresay,
sitting in the dirt patch room,
waiting for the bloom.

passing are the hip dog walkers,
coffee and tea,
if this barn was an estate,
would you enter the gate?

come around and please comply,
gilded wishes from a copper guy,
six chamber rye long bus ride,
getting off and falling hard on the same old boulevard.

next door is a cafe and i order
the jelly and toast,
and though its overpriced by a bunch,
i'd try to buy you lunch.

never been a shopper for groceries,
liquor and chips,
the city is a pool thats gone dry,
dive and try not to die,

living the american dream,
blankets and sheets,
wake up and roll over if you care,
somebodys there.
